The challenge
Cape Construction has been putting roofs on Long Island homes since 2011 — the same family, the same standards, and a name they have to live with. Online, none of that came through. Homeowners in Nassau and Suffolk County searching for a roofer found the national lead-gen sites first, and the ones who did land on Cape Co saw a page that said nothing about how the work is actually done. The job was to build a site that earns the same trust a neighbor's recommendation does, and shows up when someone in their own town searches.
The approach
We started from the questions Long Island homeowners actually ask a roofer: what's wrong with my roof, what will it cost, how long will it take, and will you be there in year eight. The site is structured around those — a plain-English promise up top, one page per trade, a four-step process with no moving targets, before-and-after work at the same address, and real reviews. For search, the key decision was to treat the service area as content, not a footnote: Nassau and Suffolk each get their own page, and every trade page is written for the towns the crew drives to, so the site answers a specific search from a specific place.
The solution
A hand-coded PHP site with seven trade pages — roofing, flat roofing, siding, chimney, gutters, masonry, decking — plus service area, promotions, FAQ, and a free-estimate flow that is one tap away on every screen. Each page carries its own title, description, and structured data (LocalBusiness, Service, FAQ), the images are sized and lazy-loaded so the pages stay fast on a phone, and the whole thing is built to be edited and extended as the business adds towns and trades.
