Bagels Plus & Deli
01

The challenge

Bagels Plus & Deli has been boiling and baking in Secaucus since 1983 — twenty-plus bagel varieties, a deli counter that runs from Taylor ham, egg and cheese to a Philly cheese steak, doors open at 6 AM every day, and a 4.6 from 140+ Google reviews. Online, a shop like this needs one thing above all: a hungry person on a phone at 7 AM finding the menu, the hours, and the order button in seconds. The site had to make you hungry and get out of your way.

The approach

Lead with the food. Big, warm photography of the bagels and sandwiches, a bold condensed headline — "Fresh Bagels. Big Flavor." — and the three facts a customer cares about right under it: open daily from 6 AM, 4.6 stars, 20+ varieties. Then the menu, organised the way people actually order: what are you craving, the favorites, breakfast done right, lunch done right, catering. Ordering goes straight to their online ordering system; directions, phone, and hours sit in one block; and a printable carrying menu means the takeout crowd can keep it on the fridge.

The solution

A hand-coded PHP site — home, full menu, carrying menu, about, contact — built mobile-first because that is where a deli's traffic comes from. Every menu section is real HTML rather than a PDF, so Google can read the dishes; the page carries Restaurant structured data with hours, address, phone, and cuisine; images are sized and lazy-loaded so the food loads fast on a phone; and the Order Now button is one tap away on every screen.
